How to create a shell object with these links?

Hey!
I love this software but i have a little problem.
I can't create a working shell object with those system links.
Here's an example of those links

After i create the icon on the desktop, whenever i try to open the icon, it says ' (null) is not a valid Win32 application'.
What should i do?

what are you trying to do? the screenshot shows the settings of a "soft link" as far as i can see ... but i don't know what it points to.
are you trying to create a shell object of a link? or a link of a shell object? or neither?

hmmi think both! =P
for example,if you create a shortcut of a control panel applet, you'll get a so called 'soft link' and i want to create a desktop shell object of that applet

ok i understood that

at least for creating a hard link to an item in the control panel is a solution:

create a soft link as you explained, and open that .lnk file in a text editor. it should show a lot of useless stuff but also a file name with the ending .cpl - that is the actual control panel applet which is run when you double click the item in the control panel.

i tried it with the security panel (or whatever its english name is) and the filename is C:\WINDOWS\system32\wscui.cpl. you can also paste that filename into the run box and it will open the panel. so far, so good. using that file in the shell object editor doesn't work, however.

but the following works:
rundll32.exe shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL cpl_filename

again, i tried it with
rundll32.exe shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL C:\WINDOWS\system32\wscui.cpl

and it works! hope that helps.

it's almost that!
but what i really wanted was a link to an item inside a control panel applet. for example, a link to some printer (double-click) inside the printers applet.
i tried searching for some file inside the links i wanted to create the object and i didn't find any file at all. =S

hmmm i don't know how to link to a printer ...
but you can use the {...} number in the "destino" field in your screenshot. you would have to do that by editing the registry. for a shell object on your desktop, that would be hkey_local_machine \ software \ microsoft \ windows \ currentversion \ explorer \ desktop \ namespace. add a new key and name it as the number {...}. that should work.
